Haydn's Creation

With the Waltham Singers

The Salomon Orchestra are looking forward to accompanying the Waltham Singers in their performance of Haydn’s The Creation at Chelmsford Cathedral in November.

"The Creation" is a magnificent oratorio composed in 1797-1798. It tells the story of how the world was created, inspired by the Bible and John Milton’s "Paradise Lost".

Using a full orchestra and mixed choir Haydn creates music that describes nature, animals, and people coming to life in a harmonious world.
